What type of digger fits my rental need?

There are various standard types of diggers, they generally change in size and power from type an range, a lot of the time they will overlap in terms of job they perform but will offer advantages.

Generally it is between 1 and 7 tonnes in weight, it’s the most popular kind of all digger to be used throughout the UK, possibly because as well as been used everywhere from London, Manchester, Leeds in Construction and commercial building contracts, they are also a popular choice in the residential market, used for smaller house build or renovation projects as well as most commonly in the Landscaping of gardens, digging and creating mounds beds, embankments, digging out trenches, foundations for small swimming pools and artificial ponds.

Excavators (diggers)



These are used in large scale construction projects, they exist in the heavy construction equipment area of plant hire , they perform the task of a mini digger but will do it on a bigger scale, they typically made up of a boom bucket which is adjoined to a ‘house’ or rotating platform as better known, This will be positioned on top of two modes of engineering, wheels or tracks.
They can be anything from 7-8 tonnes in weight upward

You can use a digger for many purposes, great for heavy lifting, e.g scaffolding, placing of  heavy site material like structure beams large wood panels and water pipes.

Attachments can be added that replace the bucket to allow brush cutting and demolition, grading for foundations, river dredging, because of it’s size an dig reach it’s able to dredge to valuable depths. It can perform mining tasks again with the use of the correct attachments. Highly used in Forestry wor and of course the main use is digging and trenches is one of the most popular tasks, usually to make space for utilities such as water pipes and cables.
